Maternal Urge

Dear allAll around me I see women being pregnant or having children. I see old friends of mine with children. I see people my age with children. I see young girls being pregnant or with children. It upsets me greatly as I wish it was me with children or being pregnant. In a way I am happy for these women but also I suppose you could call it jealousy in a way. Jealous that they can have something I can't.It has also put me off, made me worried and and nervous about finding a partner. Most guys…See More

Low White Blood Cells Count

Dear allAt the end of July 2009 I went for my check up at the Brompton Hospital. They took blood to check my iron levels as I am anaemic. They also did the other blood checks. Today in the post I got a copy of the letter the hospital has sent to my GP. In it is says I still have iron deficiency and a low white blood cells count. It also asks for my GP to do a another blood test in a months time to reassess my white blood cells count.I was wondering what it means by low white blood cells count…See More

About Me
I was born with a Large VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect) and at 6 months old I had an operation to put a band around my Pulmonary Artery to protect my lungs. The Large VSD was not repaired as doctors at that time said there was no operation they could do. It has never been repaired. I get tired out very quickly and have been put on Oxygen 24/7. I also have to use a wheelchair to get around.
Occupation
Up till 9 years ago I worked for about 10 years as a Library Assistant for the Local Council. It was a job I enjoyed very much. I do not work now due to my failing health.

Hi Amanda,
Thanks for adding me to your friends list. I am 45 married with 2 children.
Like you i was born with a VSD or "hole in the heart" as I grew up being told. Also I got to the point that it couldn't be repaired so again mine has never been repaired. In last 6 years i went for transplant assessment and had some thorough tests and they tell me i have "Eisenmengers Syndrome" and have found others on Guch website with this but it is rare. In past i have been offered transplant but right now i believe i have a quality of life. That may change lol. I am on oxygen but not 24/7 as I am also on Bosentan medication which is really good. Has helped me do more and walk further. I have a wheelchair and use it for shopping or if there is a lot of walking as i like you get too breathless. I do not work but instead put a lot of work into the voluntary sector and particularly i help run a disability group and sit on many committees etc for local services. We are a lot alike. Competitions is a big hobby of mine, what is best you have won lol, im intrigued. Also into computers, i did a computer maintenance course and repair my own pcs etc. Occasionally other peoples. Don't do it for a living because of lifting lol. I also have lots of friends and socialize. I was involved with guch website for a bit and went to snowdonia one weekend. Really liked it but it isnt a complaint but felt out of it as guch has so many repaired people lol.

You on Facebook? Thanks for adding me. Ian.
